Rudy has made a name for himself in several entertainment fields utilizing his many talents. He began dancing in his mothers kitchen at the age of eight. By the time he was twelve, Rudy was considered a professional dancer & choreographer. He and his best friend created a company named "LEONZALEZ Ent." & choreographed some of the biggest productions of it's time. Including performances for some of the greatest Salsa singers in HIstory.
Four years later Rudy was selected to compete in the spanish "OPRAH SHOW" - "CRISTINA" he flew to Miami and won "PAPI DEL ANO" "Man of the Year" (as a young boy)The following week he returned to school and won Backwards KING _ his High School. -
Shortly after Rudy was contacted to dance in the First SALSA DANCE GROUP in LA - "Ritmo y Sabor" great little group that performed in local dance clubs and in Vegas (never got the credit for being the first group).
Salsa was growing fast in LA... and Rudy was able to be a part of it as a teenager. He meet in the scene & became best friends with another young Salsero who was also very passionate and creative.
The small little team of four became - huge and ended up being the BEST SALSA TEAM in THE HISTORY of LA - SALSA BRAVA -
Rudy later stared is own company "Royalty"
Onstage, Rudy has gained worldwide recognition as an extremely charismatic salsa dancer with a distinctive style, whose unique performances have become legendary among salsa enthusiasts. He has choreographed for and performed live with several legendary salsa-recording artists such as Celia Cruz and Tito Puente.
He has also appeared in over thirty commercials as well as television shows. You may also see Rudy in the films such as Dance With Me, Along Came Polly, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights to name a few. Over the past 25 years, salsa music has remained a constant force guiding
Rudy's creative vision throughout his many exciting endeavors.
He has taught thousands of students all over the world and has books published in Japan. He has truly contributed to the world of dance.
